Careers in Biotech right after Graduation:
Right after a B.Tech or a B.Sc.in biotechnology there are a variety of opportunities for students in India , You can either go for higher studies like M.tech, M.Sc. or PhD degrees for improving your skills and up gradation of your degree or you can go for jobs in the biotech businesses, investigation institutes ,Pharmacy businesses ,even universities and colleges.
IIT JAM is the entrance exam conducted by IITs for its two year M Sc course in physics, geophysics, mathematics, biotechnology, geology, mathematical-statistics, chemistry and computer applications .Apart from JAM , you have other major biotech exams which are equally great like you have IISC (Bangalore), TIFR (Mumbai),AIIMS (Delhi), MKU (madurai), JNU, AMU .Earlier it was a big question of my life as i was completely confused about what to do right after BSc. like it happens with lot of students these days, then without wasting a lot of time i decided to prepare for IIT JAM exam.As i was a botany graduate i had a option of M.Sc. in Biotechnology. The Biotechnology (BT) test paper comprises of Biology (44% weightage),Chemistry (20% weightage), Mathematics (18% weightage) and Physics (18% weightage) and oppurtunities after MSc. are very very good .you can go for research or you get placed in the organizations that check out the campus.

Again a question arose in my mind how to prepare for it simply because IIT itself is a identified name and preparing for it on my own is really hard ,i searched a lot for coaching for biotech entrance then all my queries came to end when i visited Trajectory Education.i personally feel it is the very best coaching for iit-jam.

All the lectures given by IIT experts and the Study material for iit-jam biotech provided by them got me by means of the exam.In this article i will be discussing how to get via IIT JAM exam.firstly i started with biology portion then moved on to chemistry and at last i went by means of mathematics and physics. A student appearing for it has 3 choice of courses to opt from:
M.Sc. Biotechnology (IITB, IITR)
M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in Biotechnology (IITB)
M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree in Environmental Science &amp Engineering (IITB).
Soon after post graduation in biotechnology students typically go for PhD through net, gate ,JRFs or MBA for establishing themselves in company industry.
Right after M.Sc. in Biotechnology students are hired to work as project assistants at research institute or research fellows ,they are typically paid from 20,000-30,000 in govt. Institutes.
In corporate sector student with higher capabilities are selected for deserving positions e.g. Biocon .
A variety of positions for postgraduates are:
Research assistant ,Good quality control engineer,Clinical programmer, Biochemical Development Engineer.Lectureships and assistant professorship.
